Although our blog is focused on giving you ways to decorate/personalize your room, we want to also include ways to personalize simple, everyday items in order to add a little “frill” to your life. We thought enhancing some plain old pencils and notebooks would help get everyone back into the swing of things for spring semester!
Supplies you’ll need: wooden pencils, tissue paper, mod podge, brush, and scissors
1. Cut the tissue paper- make it the length of the pencil with a width of about 2 inches.
2. Apply mod podge to the pencil.
3. Start rolling the tissue paper onto the pencil and press down. Wrap the tissue paper around the pencil at least twice, while adding mod podge as you need it.
4. Add a top coat of mod podge for good measure.
Make a few with different patterns and you’ll have your own collection! You can complete this same process with the front of a notebook, applying mod podge as a base and as a top coat. Start your winter classes off in style!
